Switzerland’s National Day felt unusually quiet this year. Ongoing drought conditions meant fireworks were banned across much of the country. Growing up in what was often called the “Water Castle of Europe,” seeing fires and fireworks prohibited because the landscape has become so dry felt strangely emblematic of our changing climate.

At least our Money Plant is still getting enough water.
