On the second day of our trip, we explored a potential observation spot for the total solar eclipse the following day. A lovely couple we befriended after renting their holiday apartments from 2013 through 2023 kindly offered us the vantage point. Unfortunately, a small hill to the west blocked the sunset view.
Getting there involved an exhausting yet exhilarating climb up and down four floors through a house without A/C at 35°C, culminating in a metal spiral staircase with spectacular views over Cala Vadella Bay. By the end, my legs were out of energy. Made it, though!
To finish the eventful day, we drove out toward the cliff overlooking the sunset, but only as far as the parking space from which we would have wanted to watch the spectacle. We left the car on the parking spot and walked back down to the hotel.
