After nearly twenty years of working with cameras focused on maximum visual fidelity, using a “toy” camera makes assessing image quality in low light unexpectedly difficult. This is especially challenging on its ultra-tiny screen.
For today’s shot, I ventured to one of Zurich’s three pseudo-subway stops, remnants of an abandoned underground transit plan that now routes trams beneath the city to connect the eastern districts with the center. The cars switch track sides directly at the tunnel exits, a small but distinctive detail in Zurich’s infrastructure.
By the end of the day, the takeaway was simple: this scene needs to be revisited in daylight.
