On the last day of January, I felt the urge to ride my bike toward the settlement near the departure corridor for eastbound planes leaving Zurich Airport. I hadn’t realized how poor the visibility was, as the fog sat very low to the ground.
A Boeing 737 taking off one slot before the A380 visible in the photo never appeared to break through the cloud layer. The A380, by contrast, displaced enough air through sheer momentum to punch through the grey moisture before slowly climbing above the fog. It was a spooky sight on this cold Saturday afternoon.
