There are solutions that, at first, appear to be a compromise. Yesterday’s experience with the spoonie cane led me to decide to bring it with me – just in case. And what a mental crutch the cane’s presence was!
With every step successfully taken and the knowledge that I’d be able to switch to a supported walking style quickly, I carried on, and on, until I reached the stairs to my place. I never had to use the cane. While I initially thought it would bother me to carry it in my hand, it turned out to be quite light.
So I ventured to the “western bypass” again, but this time, I took a photo of the dusky sky. It won’t be long until I can catch the sun actually setting after work. Until then, I explore further.
