Exertion, while generally advisable to maintain function, can trigger disruptive symptoms – sometimes with a delay.
Walking, physio, and rowing help me build strength and coordination. Yet the jerking legs and burning feet that followed – due to the exhaustion of my neurologic reserve – kept me awake until the wee hours.
In a slightly cynical twist, my attempt to improve my situation backfired, leaving me unable to recharge my batteries meaningfully.
Another lesson in pacing. One I promptly ignored.
Lulled into a false sense of security – I’m bringing my cane, after all – I decided to visit a small square near where we lived more than a decade ago.
When it was time to head back home, I was grateful I had persuaded my lovely partner to join me. Without her, I wouldn’t have ventured that far. Thanks to her moral and physical support, I completed the walk.
Her relentless loving support inspired today’s picture. ❤️
And now, here’s hoping my legs don’t punish me for today’s effort. 😀
